UniZik Vice Chancellor, Egboka, In Judicial Trouble

Boniface Egboka
A chief magistrate court in Abuja today ordered Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police to investigate allegations that Boniface Egboka, the vice chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, had misappropriated government funds. The court, which sits in Wuse Zone 6 of Abuja, also directed the IGP to examine allegations that Mr. Egboka had engaged in bribery and corrupt enrichment.
The court’s orders arose from a direct criminal complaint filed by Nnamdi Nweke, a lawyer from the Agnus Dei Chambers in Abuja. The court wants the police boss to complete his investigations and report back to the court on October 30, 2012.
Mr. Nweke is an Abuja-based legal practitioner, human rights activist and anti-corruption crusader.
Below is a copy of the court’s letter to the IGP as well as the direct criminal complaint.
