Guinness Nigeria announces new CEO

Seni Adetu will resume duties on July 1

Seni Adetu will be the first Nigerian to head Guinness Nigeria in almost two decades.
The board of Guinness Nigeria has named Seni Adetu as the new CEO. He will take over from Devlin Hainsworth, who has been earmarked for Kenya.
Adetu will be the first Nigerian to head the company since Ralph Alabi occupied the position in the mid-1990s.
Adetu is currently the CEO of East African Breweries Limited (EABL), and will be taking up his new role on July 1, 2012.
He has been the head of EABL since 2009 and before that, was managing director of Guinness’ Ghanaian operations.
The Chairman of the board of Guinness Nigeria, Babatunde Savage, said: “During his time in Ghana, Adetu led the integration of Guinness Ghana and Ghana Breweries Limited, creating a winning culture and driving a strong market share growth.
“Under his leadership, EABL has risen to become the most capitalised company listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange and a clear leader in the East African region.”
