PPA warns states against alliance talks

by Muideen Olaniyi

National Chairman of the Progressive Peoples’ Alliance (PPA), Chief Sam Nkire has told all the party’s 36 state chairmen and that of Abuja not to engage in any talk of alliance or co-operation with any political party in their various areas, particularly in Abia State.
Chief Nkire handed down this warning while exchanging views with the Abia State chairman of PPA, Prince Emeka Okafor over the rumour that they were allowed to align with a particular political party in Abia State.
He said the PPA is engaged in alliance talks only at the national level and has not mandated any state chairman to talk on its behalf.
Nkire disclosed that the party was strategising on how to participate in the forth-coming governorship elections in both Anambra and Ekiti States in 2014.
The PPA boss was of the opinion that the elections in the two states would be won on the basis of quality of candidates and not name or size of political party. He reminded PPA members that the only way the party could come back to its winning ways was through commitment, loyalty and hardwork.
