Tension in FCT over Strange Influx of Foreign Nationals

fcta_477085444Security agencies in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, have been put on the alert following what has been described as increased influx of suspicious foreign immigrants into the territory.
Tension has mounted over the influx, while security sources had acknowledged the presence of foreign-trained terrorists in the country. The apprehension was also not unconnected with previous incidents of attack on the territory, including attack on the Force Headquarters and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) office, all in Abuja.
Fresh tension had also mounted, following the deployment of troops in Mali by Nigeria, to assist defeat rebels that had made inroads into the North of the country. Since the deployment of the troops and the intelligence report, extra security measures had been taken to safeguard the territory in particular.
To make matters worse, there were reports that some of the foreigners proudly disclosed their nationality upon interrogation and boasted they feared no repatration despite entering the country without documentation. However, in order to appraise the increased influx of foreign immigrants into Abuja, FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed, on Tuesday, summoned security chiefs to an emergency security meeting.
