PDP kicks as Jonathan visits Lafia

THE opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State does not see any merit in President Goodluck Jonathan’s visit to the capital city, Lafia, Monday as it insists that Governor Tanko Al-Makura will only present him with lies about some phantom projects.
Nevertheless, residents welcomed the visit, stating that it would enable the President, who is making his first visit since assumption of office, to address the deficit of development infrastructure in the state.
According to the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) state government, President Jonathan is primarily expected to commission a building recently completed by the Al-Makura administration, meant to serve as a Federal High Complex in the state. Other projects to be commissioned include classroom blocks and state water works.
However, the PDP says that claims by the CPC government that it has achieved much is gross deception. State chairman of PDP, Yunana Illiya, accused Al-Makura of setting the state back, stressing that major roads in the state were getting worse while the rains have rendered some impassable.”
