“Don Jazzy asked his thugs to beat the life out of me” – Lagos socialite sues producer [PHOTOS]

Lagos socialite Princewill Ojukwu, is accusing Don Jazzy of battery, dehumanization and oppression.
According to a report by Stella Dimoko-Korkus of National Encomium, Ojukwu alleges that he had a row with Don Jazzy at his newly opened club POP, which led to the music producer ordering his thugs to beat “the life out of him.”
“It’s not about the money, this could happen to anyone,it is abuse of power and needs to be checked before someone is killed all in the name of the other being a celebrity. Don Jazzy stood there pinging on his blackberry as his thugs beat me up, that is the last thing I remember before I fainted…..” he said.
Here is the letter written by Ojukwu’s lawyers to the Inspector General of Police.

“I am from a good background, I don’t need her properties” – Bisi Komolafe’s fiance speaks out

As the controversy over Bisi Komolafe lingers on, her fiance, Tunde Ijadoukun – who has also been accused of having a hand in her death – has spoken out in an interview, rubbishing claims that he is a gold digger.

Excerpts:
On Bisi’s Jeep and properties….
Tunde:  Bisi’s property, I don’t think it is a proper thing for family members to be fighting me for bisi’s properties less than 24hours after Bisi’s death when we should be mourning her. Bisi died at age 27 and it is sad. I am sending the Honda Pilot back to them, sad enough Bisi’s parents do not have issues with me but her extended family members. Please note I have given them time and place to pick the car.
On the accusation he went back to pack Bisi’s properties…
Tunde: I came back to Nigeria on Oct 24th and Bisi and I left the Ikorodu flat on OCT 26TH and till I talk I have never been to the Ikorodu apartment I rented for her. It is shocking what i am hearing, when i met Bisi she was living in Ajao Estate I was the one who rented the Ikorodu apartment for her.
On accusation he was hiding Bisi from people
Tunde:  I had to change Bisi’s numbers because she needed rest, when she was ill people kept calling her for work,  it is sad that Bisi died the way she did. One of the main issue between me and her family was that when Bisi’s sickness dragged on I went spiritual and we were told her problems were spiritual but her family didn’t allow us to take her for spiritual care. I loved Bisi till she died and she loved me, what property of Bisi will I take, please go and ask about me I am from a good family background and we are comfortable, my father retired as a Permanent Secretary in Lagos and I have a thriving car business.
On going back to his former wife
Tunde: All that are craps, till Bisi died she was my wife and I will forever cherish her.

2015: It’s Not Too Early For Jonathan To Begin Campaign – Omoruyi

FORMER Director General of the defunct Centre for Democratic Studies, CDS, Prof. Omo Omoruyi, has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to own up that he authorised his campaign posters for 2015 if he was sure that he had evidence of good performance in office so far instead of keeping Nigerians in suspense.
In an interview with Vanguard in Benin, Edo State, Omoruyi said it was not too early for Jonathan to start 2015 re-election campaign because campaign starts with the end of an election.
President Jonathan campaign posters flooded Abuja last week. His aides distanced the president from the posters, reiterating Jonathan’s comments that he would tell Nigerians whether or not he would contest the election in 2014, adding that for now he was concentrating on governance.
The political scientist, who just returned from a medical trip abroad, faulted those who are asking President Jonathan not to re-contest. He also picked holes in the opposition of the North to the Petroleum Industry Bill, PIB,, saying if the North had oil they would have seceded from Nigeria.
Omoruyi spoke as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, gave reasons it could not act on the controversial campaign posters.

It’s not too early for Jonathan to begin campaign
His words: “Why will he not contest? Look, constitutionally, is he not qualified to contest? If yes, then, his performance will be judged by the people and not him. When people said, ah, there are posters here and there, it is even too late. Why is it too early? Haven’t you seen what is going on in the United States of America today? The man (Barack Obama) will be sworn in on January 20, 2013 and the Republicans are already looking for an alternative to him; within the Democratic Party they are looking for somebody who would replace him.
“So, it is not too early because election starts once election is conducted. Period! You do not wait. I have said it that in first year, you are busy trying to plant something; second year it must germinate, third year is a nomination year and this is nomination year. So, what is so early in it?
Jonathan should own up to the posters
“The man (Jonathan) should own up and say, look, I am seeking a second term or whatever term it is. So any group that is rooting for him is in order. He has never owned up to that. Based on what I have said, I do not know what he has done because in some of these things, you must stand to be counted. He must say, I have achieved this thing, I have stabilised this country, I have given Nigeria a leadership, and you must make a choice.
“We are gradually going to the nomination year now and if he cannot put an end to those seeking to replace him within the PDP in the third year, he should forget it. If he cannot make those seeking to replace him from outside the PDP in the third year, he should forget it.”
If North had oil, they would have seceded long ago
On the attempt by the Northern Governors and federal lawmakers to kill the PIB following allegation that its provisions were anti-North, Omoruyi said: “Who owns oil now has become an issue. It is for all of us. It is for everybody. That is only the beginning of the crisis we have in this country, otherwise, I can assure you of one thing… If oil was found in the North many years ago, the North would have seceded long ago.
“That is why this craze for exploration. There is still that fear that the country would break up. You see, one document I put together for General Ibrahim Babangida contained two final points. One, he wanted former President Yar’Adua to pursue the dredging of the River Niger up to Baro and Baro is Babangida’s locality. It is his home.
“The second is that he also wanted the building of a highway from Kano to Tripoli in Libya. He said he wanted quick exploration of oil. Why were that going on and why were these three issues so important? It is because they did not believe that Nigeria will last. If Nigeria breaks up, they will not have to go through the ports of Lagos or Port-Harcourt.’’
Why we can’t act on Jonathan’s posters — INEC
As controversy continues to trail the emergence of the campaign posters of President Jonathan on the New Year, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, yesterday, advanced reasons it could not act on the posters.
Chairman of the Commission, Prof Attahiru Jega, said there was nothing the commission could do about posters displayed randomly by unknown persons in the Federal Capital Territory.
The Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Mr. Kayode Idowu, told Vanguard that the action of the masterminds of the controversial posters fell within the region of crime and public order, which should be handled by security agencies and not INEC.
According to Idowu, the commission does not deal with unknown elements but with registered political parties in the discharge of its duties as enshrined in the law.
The chairman’s spokesman said since neither the People Democratic Party nor the President had owned up to the posters, there was nothing it could do.
Idowu said: “If an identifiable party or persons acting for a party campaign outside the purview of the law, then it becomes a matter of interest to INEC. The present scenario does not add up.”

Oshiomhole certificate saga and the professor

THE issue of Oshiomhole certificate which is before the Edo Election Petition Tribunal is already hitting up the judicial panel as Oshiomhole finally had a professor as his classmate whose wife was appointed the Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma.
The husband of the VC, Professor Agbebaku Sunday, said he attended Blessed Martins Modern Secondary School Jettu –Uzairue from 1963 to 1965 with Governor Oshiomhole when he was known as Adams Aliu after modern three.
The professor proceeded to obtain his school certificate before he was admitted into the higher institution.
He said Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole was known as Adams Aliu without Oshiomhole. He also contradicted himself by saying modern three is modern school certificate, but he obtained his school certificate after modern three.
The petitioner and candidate of the PDP, Gen Charles Airhiavbere (retd) is challenging the educational qualifications of Adams Aliyu orAliu Oshiomhole for certificate forgery.
Oshiomhole went to Iyamoh Primary School, Iyamoh from 1957 to 1962, Blessed Martins Secondary Modern School, Jattu Uzairue from 1963 to 1965 and Ruskin College Oxford and was awarded certificate in diploma in 1979. If truly he wentthrough all these educational hurdles to obtain all the records as claimed by the Comrade why the fear about hearing of certificate matters in the court?
The fear I have in my mind is finishing Iyamoh
Primary School, Iyamoh even before it was found or is it that his INEC form 001 was filled under dures?
It is a known fact that modern three is not the equivalent of school certificate.

Kayode Alabi, Edo State.

2015 Elections: South-South Group Abandons Jonathan, Begins Campaign for Atiku Abubakar

Atiku AbubakarA group in the South-South geo-political zone of the country, Justice and Equity Coalition, has kick-started what looks like an informal campaign in support of the presidential ambition of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.
According to a press statement made available in Calabar on Friday and signed by the coordinator of the group, Prince Victor Okon, they observed that the country had missed “the political ingenuity and authority which Alhaji Atiku would have brought into national leadership at a crucial period like this.”
The statement pointed out that Atiku had, a few years ago, raised the alarm on the economic policy of the Federal Government, which was denied by some presidential aides, but later turned out to be true. According to Prince Okon, Atiku having served for eight years as the vice president and criss-crossed the nooks and crannies of the country, he was better prepared and preferred as a personality from the northern part of the country whose quality could keep the country as one.
The statement continues: “As people from the South-South region, we decided to root for our son, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, during the last presidential election. Now however, we must carry our patriotism further by acknowledging that Alhaji Atiku, who was the most tested candidate, but lost to sentiment, be allowed to fix the country. This present leadership has failed our people.”
