President Jonathan Pays Close To N1 Billion In ‘Severance’ To Yar’Adua Family

The presidency has paid nearly N1billion to the family of late President Umaru Yar’Adua.
turai_aisha_nafisat_1_The slush funds were routed through the Katsina state government, the home state of the former president.
The payment includes about N150 million to Mrs. Turai Yar’adua, as well as the late president’s aged mother, his married daughters, and sons.
It is yet unclear if any provision was made for his second wife, Hauwa Umar Radda, whom the late president divorced in 1997, shortly before he became the governor of Katsina state.
Although she has received the biggest payout, it would be recalled that it was the controversial former First Lady, Turai, who pushed Nigeria to the brink of a political crisis between 2009 and May 2010 while her husband was hospitalized in Saudi Arabia.  He eventually returned and died inside the Aso Rock Villa.
Mrs. Yar’Adua was at the head of a cabal of Ministers, aides and security agents that manipulated the nation for many tense months as they clung to power, almost leading to the collapse of the government.

Finally A Cure For HIV?: UNIBEN Professor Says Edo Plant Is The Key

By Precious Nzeribe
HIVCURE2
Prof. Isaiah Ibeh of the University of Benin, on Tuesday announced the development of a new drug that can allegedly ‘cure’ HIV and AIDS. Ibeh, who is the Dean of the School of Basic Medical Sciences of the university, told reporters in Benin that the herbal drug had undergone “series of successful tests”.
He said “We are at the threshold of making history, in the sense that we seem to have with us something that will permanently take care of what over time seems to have defied all solutions. “We are talking about the latest discovery of an oral drug made from plants extraction in Nigeria for the possible cure of the pandemic, HIV and AIDS virus.’’
According to him, research on the project was started in 2010 and culminated in the development of “Deconcotion X (DX)–Liquid or Bioclean 11 for the cure of HIV and AIDS”. “The existing retroviral drugs are intervention drugs for the management of AIDS but our new discovery is a possible cure.
“We have tried to look at the product first; its toxicological analysis and discovered that it has a large safety margin. “This means that if animals or human beings are exposed to it, they will not suffer any serious harm at all from the exposure. “It also helped us to know the quantity we can conveniently give to animals and will feel secure that nothing untoward will happen.
“We have also done the bacteriological analysis on it, after which we looked at its effect on the virus and the result was quite revealing and refreshing.” Ibeh also said that the drug had been exposed to series of medical examination both in Nigeria and in the USA. He added that the drug had performed well on patients with the HIV virus and had shown evidence of total restoration of damaged tissues.
“The result showed an increase in the body weight of the individual administered with DX. “The body weight was statistically significant when compared with the control group.” He said that further tests were being conducted to determine “at what point will a patient become negative after being administered the drug?”.
“This verification is necessary because it is what is used to measure whether infection is still there or not. So we need to know the siro-convention time. “But preliminary results showed that of the five latest patients orally administered with the drugs, our findings is that up to seven months , three of them were siro negative while two were sill faintly positive.’’ Ibeh appealed for support from the Federal Government and relevant bodies to assist the university with relevant equipment to sustain the research. Patti Solis Doyle On Hillary Clinton 2016 Run: 'Hopefully'

Patti Solis Doyle, Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign manager, joined HuffPost Live Tuesday to discuss the role of women in political campaigns and speculated on her former boss' 2016 presidential prospects.
"Hopefully there will be a 2016 campaign," Solis Doyle told HuffPost Live host Alicia Menendez, while praising the diversity among Clinton's top 2008 staff.
Solis Doyle managed Clinton's campaign for president through the February 2008 primaries, and would go on to work with the Obama campaign as chief of staff to the vice presidential candidate.
When asked whether she thinks Clinton will take the plunge in 2016, Solis Doyle said she genuinely doesn't know, but is remaining hopeful.
"I have to take her word for it that she's not thinking about it," she said. "But I sure hope so, because I think she would be fantastic."

12 Reasons Why Women Don’t Date Nice Guys

bored-womanWomen say they want a nice guy, yet usually end up dating bad boys. Here’s why.
1. Not real. Nice guys are too nice. No one can always be that nice unless they’re a saint. They are busy being nice instead of being real and women instinctively don’t trust that. Bad boys “keep it real.” Nice guys don’t want to upset the apple cart.
2. Respect. No one respects a doormat. Nice guys don’t set boundaries or make any real demands. A bad boy doesn’t let a woman walk all over him or control him. Women can’t respect a man they can control. No respect equals no attraction.
3. Predictable. Most people lead boring, predictable lives, so they’re attracted to people who are exciting and a bit unpredictable. Bad boys are always a challenge. Nice guys are never a challenge. Predictable plus no excitement plus no challenge equals I prefer a bad boy.
4. Mother Nature. Women are designed to nurture. However, instead of doing this with children, they often end up doing it with bad boys. They think their love will save them. Nice guys rarely need to be saved.
5. Fixer-upper. Nice guys don’t usually need to be fixed. Bad boys usually do, so they become a project. Women think if they can “create” the perfect man, he will never leave them. Also, if they’re busy fixing someone else, they don’t have to look at what needs to be fixed in their own lives.
6. Fluid wars. Women are designed to procreate with the strongest possible genes. Bad boys are sending an unconscious message that they have great genes, so they’re not afraid of losing the woman by misbehaving. Nice guys are sending a message that they don’t think their genes are good enough, so they won’t misbehave.
7. Fear of intimacy. If a woman is afraid of intimacy, she subconsciously knows she can avoid it with a bad boy, since she can never get close enough to him to have to go there. A nice guy will eventually want a commitment, and that’s scary.
8. Low self-esteem: We don’t feel comfortable with people who treat us better than we treat ourselves. If you don’t think much of yourself, the bad boy is simply reinforcing your negative belief. A nice guy is treating you in a way you’re not familiar with.
9. s*x. Women feel a nice guy won’t be good in bed. They sometimes like to be manhandled and think a nice guy won’t be able to take control and get the job done. A bad boy comes across as being able to deliver, even though that may not always be the case.
10. Hot. Have you ever seen a bad boy who wasn’t hot? I’m sure there are a few, but they wouldn’t be able to get away with half the stuff they did if they didn’t look so good. Meanwhile, when a woman describes someone as a nice guy, she means, “He’s not hot.”
11. Charm. Nice guys don’t always know what to say and are sometimes at a loss for words. Bad boys can be very charming and know exactly what women want to hear. However, they eventually switch over to being selfish. By the time they reveal their true colours, the woman has fallen for them and has a hard time letting go.
12. Protection. Historically, men have protected women — physically and otherwise. Bad boys give the illusion of being able to protect women, while with nice guys, women aren’t so sure. Life is about balance. Most men fall into either the bad boy or the nice guy category. The ideal man is neither, but walks that fine line between the two. Until men learn how to do this, more often than not, women will choose the bad boy, until they realize that his bad qualities outweigh his good ones.

Man Collects Lover’s Money, Then Dumps Her

A midddle aged woman, Amusa Taiwo, has been left in the lurch after she allegedly gave her lover, Adesokan Ifeoluwa, N1.4m with the hope that he would marry her in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

Instead of fulfilling his own part of the agreement to marry her, Ifeoluwa used the money and married another woman. He eventually dumped Amusa. Consequently, the jilted woman who felt betrayed and duped, demanded her money back from him, and when it was not forthcoming, she went to the police at Idimu Division to report the fraud. Ifeoluwa was arrested by the police and charged before a Lagos magistrate’s court sitting in Ejigbo, for the alleged fraud.
He is now facing a three-count charge before the presiding magistrate, Mrs. Folami, of felony, obtaining under false pretence and stealing, under sections 322, 312 and 278 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria. There was drama at the court when another woman complainant appeared and told the court that she suffered a similar fate in the hands of Ifeoluwa and the matter was still at court three, Otta Magistrate’s Court, Ogun State, southwest Nigeria, where he allegedly jumped bail.
The complaint urged the court to order his re-arrest for him to come to Otta to face his trial. Narrating what happened, Ifeoluwa, 35, told our correspondent that he is from Ekiti State and read Public Administration at Ado-Ekiti University. He said Taiwo was his lover before they parted ways. The defendant admitted before the court that Taiwo was his lover he wanted to marry, but things went wrong along the line and the marriage plans did not work out.
He said he actually collected the money from her and did not steal it as she alleged, adding that she was angry because the marriage plans failed. He also admitted that he had another woman he wanted to marry before he met Taiwo and said the money assisted him to settle down and promised to pay her back. Taiwo, who was still shocked about what happened, said he collected all the money from her under false pretence to execute a contract and raise more money for their marriage. She said after he collected the money, he bolted away.
On how she met Ifeoluwa, she said she met him at Car Wash area of Idimu. When the matter came up, the prosecutor, Mr Adeleye Oluwafemi, objected to his bail by telling the court that Ifeoluwa was a notorous fraudster who specialises in defrauding women under the pretence of marrying them.
He added he was likely to jump bail as information before the court was that he had jumped bail in another court. The court, however, granted him bail in the sum of N700,000 with two sureties in like sum. He was subsequently remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri pending when he will meet the bail condition. The matter was adjourned till 27 Febuary, 2013.
