Six Boko Haram Bombers, Including One Woman, Arrested With Bombs In Kaduna

Kagoro Hills
By SaharaReporters, New York
Six suspected Boko Haram bombers, including a woman were arrested last night in troubled Southern Kaduna, carrying bomb-making materials.
A senior security official told SaharaReporters that the suspects were picked up following a tip received in Kagoro town, near Kafanchan, the biggest town in southern axis of the state.
He also confirmed that the suspects, all of whom were described as young, have made useful statements to a team of investigators.
The source said that the suspects were likely planning to attack a location on Sunday in Kagoro or Kafanchan before the soldiers nipped their plan in the bud following the tip-off.
The suspects were arrested on the same route that four Boko Haram sect members: Salisu Ahmed, Umar Babagana-Umar, Mohammed Ali and Musa Adam were arrested in July 2011 on their way to Kaduna one day before Vice President Namadi Sambo and other dignitaries were to attend a sporting function at the township stadium.  According to their subsequent confessions, they were planning on their way to that venue to detonate a series of bombs targeted at Sambo.

third Nations Cup title at the 2013 tournament in South Africa.
Burkina Faso, playing its first-ever final, fought back strongly after the goal, but never managed to equalise.
The Super Eagles celebrated the the win with a victory lap around the pitch.
Nigeria won Africa's top football tournament in 1980 and 1994, but the country's soccer fortunes have since dipped, until the latest victory.
By the win, Nigeria's coach Stephen Keshi has made history by becoming only the second man in history to lift the trophy as a player and a coach, after Mohamed El Gohary of Egypt.
Keshi captained the Super Eagles team that won the trophy in 1994.

Actresses who dare to go bald in Movies

It is said that the hair is the crowning glory of a woman, but when movie producers  and directors come knocking at the door of star actresses with an offer to portray a mourning traditional African widow, the role requires that they shave off their hair. Well, here’s a list of actresses who aren’t afraid of committing themselves to their role and showing fans that they’re willing to go all the way in the name of their craft.
Mercy Johnson in Heart of a Widow
Nollywood star actress, Mercy Johnson is a delight to watch any day on screen. For her craft, and expression of professionalism, she went bald two years ago, while featuring in a movie,
“ Heart of a Widow”shot in Enugu.
According to reports, Mercy was paid handsomely to shave  her hair. Mercy  however did not disappoint the producers of the movie, Magic Movies Limited  who did everything possible to get her on the set. While the movie was yet to hit the screens then, Mercy’s fans were already visiting the shelves  and cinema centres to see the movie.

Not only has she re-defined what it means to be a widow through the movie,  she proved to be one of those A-list actresses who aren’t afraid to display professionalism in any movie role given to them. Naturally, while she was on set, she looked pale, dejected and abused. Yet, it was a make-believe world.
Uche Jombo in Holding Hope
Uche Jombo lost so much weight when she went bald in Holding Hope, a movie she produced with Emem Isong last year. She played  the role of a cancer ill mother. And for her to be able to fit into this role, the actress went on a diet, lost so much weight that tongues started wagging on whether she aborted a six month old pregnancy. Then, Uche was a shadow of her old self, as she was made to shave off all her hair to look the role, looking miserable and dejected. It however, took her some months to regain her weight as well as silence her critics.
Nuella Njubigbo
Actress Nuella Njubigbo last year released pictures of her new look online. In the pictures, Nuella was  relieved of her lush hair, a requirement for the lead role she played in a movie.
It was gathered then that she was paid handsomely for the role. Her bravery in shaving off her hair for a movie role pitched her with notable Nollywood actresses who have done that at one time or the other.  Still in her early days in the industry, Nuella is one of the fastest rising actresses in Nollywood.
Her fans are of the opinion that Nuella ought to have gotten an enviable attention given the new flick, but unfortunately, the movie is yet to hit the big screen. Nonetheless, Nuella continues to impress her fans all over the world with her unconstrained style of acting and versatility that has endeared her to the hearts of many movie lovers.
Oge Okoye
Ordinarily, sexy actress, Oge Okoye wouldn’t agree to subject herself to torture or shave  off her hair for any price. But as a thespian, she is, she did it two years ago, when she dared to go bald in movie role which required the bald effect to portray the character of a widow.

It was  however rumoured  then that the offer was too good for the actress to refuse. And like Mercy Johnson and Stella Damasus, she displayed her craft, and  shocked her fans when she shaved off  her hair to star in the movie. Unfortunately, not many people have seen  the movie but  those who were privileged to see it said it made a big splash when it was released in 2011.
Adaora Ukoh in ‘Thy Kingdom Come’
Top actress Adaora Ukoh  is still living with the reality of having to shave off her hair in a movie titled “Thy Kingdom Come”.
Adaora who starred alongside Sam Dede, Mike Ezuruonye, Kenneth Okokwo, and other actors was bald in almost half of the movie. She played the role of a woman who became a widow and  was made to shave her hair as demanded by tradition. Squealers said, Adaora was paid N2 million to play the role.
Interesting, the actress who still carries low cut till date exudes beauty. Some of her fans confess how much they love her bald look.

Overanalyzing George W. Bush’s Painting of Himself Taking a Shower

A hacker named Guccifer has stolen three years of e-mails and photos from six e-mail accounts belonging to Bushes or friends of Bushes, the Smoking Gun is reporting. The trove includes some very private discussions of funeral and eulogy preparations for the ailing George H. W. Bush, which is awful, and we won't repeat them here, because that's beneath us. That being said, there is also a photo of a painting that George W. Bush made of himself taking a shower, which we will now discuss in depth.
First of all, in this writer's amateur opinion, it's not bad! Bear in mind, Bush appears to have picked up painting fairly recently — the hobby was first reported in Joe Hagan's profile of the Bushes in New York last October. Hagan reported that Bush had been focusing mainly on "portraits of dogs and arid Texas landscapes." Apparently, those very boring-sounding subjects got a little boring.
More impressive than the painting's aesthetic quality is the soul-searching introspection evident in the scene. Bush, slightly hunched, is standing out of the water, staring off into the corner of the shower, as if contemplating past sins that can never be washed away, no matter how much soap you use and how hard you scrub. His disembodied face appears in the shaving mirror, looking back at Bush through an impossible angle, like a haunting apparition. You can't hide from yourself, the face is saying. You can't hide from God.

Nigeria will win AFCON – Drogba

by

Despite losing 2-1 to Nigeria on Sunday in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals, Ivory Coast captain Didier Drogba hailed the Super Eagles for their inspiring outing at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium and said the team could win the tournament if they perform against others like they did against them.
“I was very impressed with the Super Eagles’ performance against us (Ivory Coast). It’s proof of hard work, relentlessness and the sign of a world-class team in preparation,” he said, after the game that shattered the Afcon dream of the highly-rated Ivorian side.
“I don’t really see any team that can withstand Nigeria for the rest of the tournament. They keep improving by each game and level of the competition. That shows it’s a hardworking and resilient outfit. If they must take the trophy home they have to keep working, be creative and challenge any side like they engaged us.
“Wishing for and seeing victory is not enough. I feel this is Nigeria time but they must deserve it by proving it more on the pitch. The fact that the team arrived with a number of home-based players means we have to give them praise because that tells us there is football even within the continent,” he said.
The former Chelsea striker also sent comforting words to his home fans, a number of whom are holding him responsible for the team’s debacle at the tournament.
“Fans ought to know that football is sometimes funny and bizarre. Sometimes you play well and you lose and others time you don’t put up a good game but you win. We did our best, it didn’t work out. We’re taking responsibility and also thanking fans and asking them to bear with the team that better days are definitely ahead.”
