By the way, the people in charge didn't really listen. On May 23, the Chicago Board of Education voted to close 49 of the 54 area elementary schools that were on the chopping block. Asean's school, Marcus Garvey Elementary, was one of only four to survive. Hey, nicely done, guys. NOT.
