Okereke: HURIWA accuses EFCC of blackmail, media trial

Human Rights Writers’ Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has accused the EFCC of the use of blackmail and media trial in the matter involving a former presidential candidate of the African Liberation Party (ALP), Chief Emmanuel Okereke on the activities of the National Special Task Force Against illegal importation and smuggling of small arms, ammunitions and light weapons.
Okereke was on Sunday accused by EFCC of allegedly operating a task force running a recruitment scam and obtaining money from applicants.
But in a statement jointly issued by the National Coordinator, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko and the National Media Affairs Director, Miss Zainab Yusuf, HURIWA said the anti-graft body was being economical with the facts regarding the status of the task force.
