Garba Lawal questions Keshi’s 4-3-3 formation

By

Ex-Nigeria international, Garba Lawal, has questioned Stephen Keshi’s tactics, expressing his confusion as to why he has opted for the 4-3-3 formation, instead of 4-4-2, which encourages wing play.
“Keshi chose the players for the competition, so he will have to explain what happen to the wing play and why he resorted to a 4-3-3 formation. Apart from formation the team is not playing as a team,” Lawal, who is on NFF’s technical committe said.
However, he reserved praises for three key members of the Super Eagles, who in his opinion, have done well in the tournament.
“Enyeama, Mikel and Emenike have been wonderful, they are the pillars of the team.” Lawal told MTNFootball.com
Speaking about their chances to qualify for the next round, he said: “The Eagles still have chance to qualify for the quarterfinal, but they must beat Ethiopia to go through and it is not going to be easy. It’s a must-win for the Eagles.
“Ethiopia will come to fight and so the Eagles must be at their best to beat them.”
