Or perhaps just away from the window in an atmospheric film noir, whatever mystery Alicia Keys managed to convey in this stunning black dress… it was certainly beguiling.
The Girl on Fire, who turned 32 today Madrid’s 40 Principles Awards, was like a blast from the past in the stunning fitted gown that tapered into an interesting diaphanous bodice that looked a bit like a bra.
Her hair was pure ’60s and set off nicely with a pair of chain-link earrings.
And unlike Taylor Swift, who changed from her stunning Kaufman Franco gown into preppy brogues and sweater, Keys took her sultry look onto the stage.
The mother-of-one swapped her dress for trousers but kept the theme of the look by wearing a sheer black top that showed her bra while she performed and accepted the rather impressive Best US Composer of the Last Decade award.

After premiering her new film The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete at Sundance, Keys set out to honour the Madrid crowd as they had honoured her.
She opened with New Day and performed some of her latest hits including Girl on Fire and Brand New Me, and was serenaded by the crowd with Happy Birthday.
She later joined Spanish superstar Alejandro Sanz onstage to perform their bilingual collaboration Looking for Paradise.
Her husband Swizz Beatz wrote: ‘Happy Bday to my Wife! A person who celebrates everybody, but hardly ever celebrates her self today is all yours.’
Alicia performed a blazing rendition of her hit song, Girl On Fire.
Belting out the words and hitting the keys on her piano, the stunning star had the audience captivated.
Alicia even altered the lyrics of the song especially for the President, singing that it Obama is on fire.
As she walked out to deafening cheers, she waved to fans and beamed from ear-to-ear.
Alicia, who was also joined by her husband Swizz Beatz and their two-year-old son Egypt in Washington D.C, was certainly excited to be part of the celebrations and had been tweeting several pictures earlier in the day.
