“It was one of the worst penalty decisions in the history of football” – Enyeama blasts referee

Vincent EnyeamaVincent Enyeama has reacted furiously to the referee’s decision, to award the Zambian national team a penalty, which allowed the defending champions to salvage a draw, from their Group C encounter with Nigeria.
The Super Eagles led through Emenike’s 57th minute goal, but the referee pointed to the spot in the 85th, after Ogenyi Onazi jostled for a 50-50 aerial ball with Mayuka. Goalkeeper Mweene calmly placed the ball into the roof of the net to make it 1-1.
“It was a bizarre call for a penalty. It was one of the worst calls I’ve seen in the history of football,” the former Enyimba goalie said.
“It doesn’t belong to football if we want to develop the football of Africa. We don’t see such calls for a game of such magnitude.
“The last game we got a point blank penalty but were not given. The call is one of the worst calls I’ve seen in life.
“I don’t know what’s really happening about the officiating. I’m really mad about it.”
The draw leaves Nigeria with two points and a crucial final game against Ethiopia next week.
