Terrorism is probably directed against Jonathan’s Presidency – C and S Spiritual Head
The Spiritual Head, of the Sacred C and S (Cherubim and Seraphim) Church of Nigeria and Overseas, His Eminence, Solomon Alao, has said terrorism in Nigeria is purely political and not based on religious belief and as such, the Presidency should not handle it as a religious matter.
The C and S Spiritual Head, made this assertion during the Annual General Conference of the C and S Unification Church in Lagos on Monday. He said the Islamic sects, Boko Haram and Juma’atu Ansarul Muslimina fi Biladis Sudan, were majorly targeted at President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.
According to him, “I think sometimes we are being sentimental about this issue (terrorism). We have always advised President Jonathan not to see Boko Haram or JAMBS as a religious thing. I don’t think it is so. I think what led to that organisation has some political connotations, so I think the earlier the President appreciates this, the better.
“It (terrorism) is probably directed against his Presidency. It was not there when someone else was the President. The President should do something decisively to arrest the issue at hand. He should also see them for what they are; these are people that said Western education is a sin and their leaders are using the inventions of Western education.” He also added that there were indications that terrorism was thriving due to unemployment and unwillingness to tackle corruption head on.
